Dust Right™ Master System

Here is the product shot that I took from the new Rockler catalog. I think all these pieces are available individually on the Rockler website. but putting them together in this kit makes a lot of sense for me. Dust collection hasn't been my strongest suit. That is not to say I don't have dust collection on every tool. I do. But I lack the central system that so many woodworkers are installing.

Sal brought the small dust collector up from under the table. This is a small "single use" 1 hp collector I have been using for years — mainly I used it in conjunction with the router table. click here to go to Woodcraft page

The dust collector comes with a "Y" so Sal will install this ON/OFF slide on one of the branches. The other one has been capped all this time so will will put a slide on that too.

Here is the setup. Sal uses Gorilla tape to fix the traps to the "Y".  (Gorilla tape) It is black which is nice, but it is really strong — much better adhesion than duct tape. It is expensive but we use so little and it sticks so well.

Sal tightens a band clamp to a connector on one of the extensions.

Everything is together and Sal makes use of the long wand. That is a clean shop floor.

This gives you a better view of the floor dust collector and how we have it under one of the work tables.

Sal uses the short wand to collect chips from under the router table. It has a grid on it so that tools and stuff don't get sucked in.
The Rockler Dust Right System is a welcomed kit for this shop. There are some clips in the kit to help hang the tools on the wall. I just haven't found any wall space yet.
