At the
end of the last page, I left this picture to "think on." It is what I used to
cut all the parts to the drawers and there were a lot of parts. One rule was
that every part to the drawer box must be of the same width.

|
As I cut the pieces to width, Sal cuts them to length on the Kapex.
|
|
I marked the corners of the drawer to be. This is needed for the next step cutting the dovetails. |

I am in the midst of reviewing the new Porter Cable Omni Jig system, so I will use it to cut the dovetails. I am setting the joint width for the bottom sized drawers.
|
When I have everything set correctly, I route the pieces.

With the gentle assist of the rubber mallet, Sal fits the corner together. |
He glues the pins of the dovetails. He follows with a small acid brush to make sure all the gluing surfaces are covered.

Sal clamps a Rockler square to one inside corner. The box is square, but he wants to be sure it dries square.
|
He measures for the bottom board. We have rabbetted the bottom to allow the ply panel to fit in.

Sal fastens the bottom in place by using finishing nails and no glue. |
Another end to a long day and a progress shot. |
